BIOCYCLE-UA is a cooperation project of three Upper Austrian, non-university research institutions from Linz:
Competence Center CHASE GmbH, Kompetenzzentrum Holz GmbH and RECENDT GmbH.
The goal is to build R&D capacities on the topic of circular economy.
Using the example of new, bio-based and fully biodegradable plastics (polyhydroxyalkanoates, PHA or polylactic acid, PLA), development topics in the closed material cycle will be addressed.
The NON-K project "BIOCYCLE-UA" primarily serves to the development of an interdisciplinary and cross-company knowledge base along the value chain in the field of biobased plastics in the sense of innovation-driven material and process research.
The project consists of 4 work packages:
Synthesis of biopolymers
Processing of biopolymers
Recycling of biopolymers
Circular economy using the example of selected biopolymers
BIOCYCLE-UA is supported by the federal government of Upper Austria and the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE) in the framework of the EU-program IWB2020.
