Together with four Upper Austrian companies and JKU Linz, we address the challenges of effective and profitable recycling of plastic film waste in the project “FolienKreislauf2030.” We work to optimize the value chain for film recycling to make these waste streams more usable for recycling companies. Packaging films make up a large proportion of plastic waste and therefore play a major role in meeting recycling quotas. Although they are collected, they are rarely sorted and even less recycled. For this reason, we started the project “FolienKreislauf2030” together with JKU, EREMA, Walter Kunststoff Recycling, Energie AG OÖ, and the Upper Austrian State Waste Management Company.
